Social Hackathon

As an AI diversity engineer, I organized activities, workshops, and events that shed light on gender biases in STEM, and the dangers of casual use of artificial intelligence systems. These workshops, targeted to marginalized demographics in tech, outlined the potential harm of these systems stemming from algorithmic bias, data skewness, and ecological impact. As a part of this mission, I designed an inclusive hackathon that challenged university students from all fields to address current meaningful social issues using a realist approach and no-code AI tools.

I created the program for the social hackathon that spanned a full weekend, which included custom tutorials for the participants, presentations from experts in the field, and a network of specialized mentors and judges. I designed graphics to publicize the event, as well as the grading criteria for the final projects.
